A short getaway : Day 2.

Helloooooooo! :)

So, we woke up around 7:00a.m the next day and we spent most of our time in George Town for that day. We had our breakfast at One Corner Cafe which is located at Jalan Bawasah, Georgetown. My brother recommended this cafe and told us that the Super Hokkien Mee is a must try here. However, we didn't manage to try it because we had to wait for an hour for that Hokkien Mee. :(

So we tried Special Lor Mee from the stall Hock Seng Lor Mee, Koay Teow Th'ng and Char Koay Teow. My dad also ordered Curry Noodles but I didn't try it because it contains pig's blood curd (.__.). There are many choices with reasonable price in this cafe but most of the time you have to wait for awhile to get a table.

Special Lor Mee with chicken feet, egg and tofu. THIS IS A MUST TRY! The gravy is very thick and fresh. Dry Lor Mee is also available from Hock Seng Lor Mee, I'll try it next time when I go back! :D

The Char Koay Teow is quite nice but a bit too spicy.

After our breakfast, we walked around to have a look at those street arts in Georgetown. Georgetown is seriously a very nice town because of the chaotic streets, narrow lanes and there are many pre-war shop-houses here. You can also rent a bicycle to go around the town as there are bicycle lanes in Georgetown. And remember to bring an umbrella because Penang is sooooooooooo hot.

 Colourful shop-houses.

This uncle was performing with those musical instruments made of recycled items and he invited my parents to join him HAHAHAHA.

We had our lunch after that at Hot Bowl Nyonya Delights at Lorong Abu Siti. This shop is well known for their White Curry Mee. What is White Curry Mee? The curry mee is called White Curry Mee as the soup has a lighter pale colour and they prepared a bottle of chili paste on each table for the customers to add in the White Curry Mee at their own will. The shop was crowded with many visitors but we were lucky enough to get a table YAY. Many people were queuing up at peak hours but it's worth waiting.

I ordered White Curry Mee with dried tofu (Tau Fu Pok), squid and cockles, without pig's blood curd.

After adding the chili paste.

We also ordered a plate of Deboned Chicken.

The White Curry Mee soup was a bit sweet before adding the chili paste. The taste of the Curry Mee is very mouth-watering. I strongly recommend the White Curry Mee here because it is very very good! :9 The chicken was a bit cold upon serving but the meat was very tender and I think it tastes best eating with the curry soup.

After our lunch, we went First Avenue which is located along Jalan Magazine to buy swimsuits and we headed back to our condo for a swim after that.

That's all for my 3 days 2 nights Penang Island trip, I really can't wait to go back Penang again. Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

See you soon! :D
